New ANCAP Crash Test Website for Consumers

Australia’s leading independent vehicle safety advocate – the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) – has launched its new website offering all new car buyers access to a range of important safety information.

The new website can be found by clicking here.

ANCAP Chair, Lauchlan McIntosh, said the new site allows greater ease of access, simplified information on ANCAP’s testing regime and vehicle safety, as well as a more sophisticated search tool.

“Our latest ANOP market research has shown that more people are aware of ANCAP and its role in crash testing vehicles and publicising their safety ratings – this new site will make it easier for new car buyers to compare the relative safety ratings of many new models in the market,” Mr McIntosh said.

“It also explains how ANCAP works and the protocols used in its crash testing program.

“We welcome visitors to the site to learn about the benefits of choosing a safer car,” he said

ANCAP has also recently entered into a 5-year funding partnership with the Commonwealth which will allow increased crash testing, more research into vehicle safety and safety technology, and increased collaboration with other Crash Assessment Programs around the world.

ANCAP is supported by the Australian government, all Australian and New Zealand motoring clubs, all Australian state governments, the New Zealand government, the Victorian Transport Accident Commission, NRMA Insurance and the FIA Foundation.
