The Citroen C4 Picasso is no longer available with the 1.6L diesel engine, so the model which achieved 5.9 L/100km is unavailable. Also the C4 Picasso that achieves 7.4 L/100 km is a diesel engine not petrol. (Petrol fuelled C4 Picasso's are also no longer available!)
To help further narrow the choices, only 3 of the cars listed have 5 star safety rating - being the C4 Picasso, the Hyundai Sante Fe and the Renault Grand Scenic. All three have curtain airbags, which for me are essential - there is no way I want to survive a side impact if my kids don't.
One omission for the list is the Peuget 308 XSE Touring with the 2L diesel engine & manual gearbox - which achieves a fuel economy of 5.9 L/100 km and it also has a 5 star safety rating (The XS with the 1.6L diesel manual achieves 5.3, but for some weird reason the third row seats are no longer listed as an option?? They used to be).

Some how you omitted the Kia Sorento which too has a 5 star saftey rating.
