Meet Marion

Her name is as hot on your lips as a good satay sauce. But it was a not-so-good satay sauce that really shot her to fame. While she has been a favourite for many people watching MasterChef, her shock elimination has risen her to heights that not even a good soufflé from Gary could reach.

We had the chance to meet with Marion last week at an exclusive gathering for the launch of the new Hyundai i20. So what’s Marion got to do with Hyundai? We’re not sure what’s cooking here specifically with Marion, but what we do know is that Hyundai is for the second year a sponsor of MasterChef. When you see the contestants going to and from the kitchen in their secret-service-like black van, that’s the Hyundai iMax. And when you hear their parting words after their elimination they are sitting in the back of a Hyundai Grandeur.

My family loves watching MasterChef and can’t help but gravitate towards particular contestants. Our favourite was (and is) Marion. Once the word got out that I had the opportunity to meet with Marion, I very quickly had four eight year olds in tow, including my twin girls.  Whilst we were driving to Whale Beach, on the beautiful Northern Beaches of Sydney, I asked them to think of a question for her. Here’s my favourite. “Marion, is your new job a supermodel because I have seen you in so many magazines and you look beautiful!”. Marion very quickly replied, “That’s called retouching.”  She was being very modest. She is just as beautiful in real life as she was behind a kitchen bench on a box in our living room.

It was an absolute delight to meet Marion and we wish her every success with her new food range she will be launching in the not too distance future.
