ESP Stability Control. The Facts You Must Know
ESP, ESC, DSC, VSC are all acronyms for stability control technology on a car. It’s a complex system that detects if your vehicle is “out of control” and helps to correct the car’s direction. For example, if an object suddenly moves in front of you and you turn sharply to avoid it, your car could under and/or oversteer and may hit another object in this “out of control” state. With ESP, your car will detect your sudden jerk of the steering wheel and work towards correcting you in the direction you were travelling.
According to the Monash University Accident Research Centre, ESP can reduce the chances of a single vehicle accident by as much as 68% in a 4WD or 32% in a passenger car.
Hyundai have just launched a great website to demonstrate the advantages of ESP. This is part of their drive to educate people on the benefits of this life saving technology as well as promote the fact that ESP is available on every model in their range.

We highly recommend that everyone considers buying a vehicle with ESP and believe that one day it will be a compulsory feature on all new vehicles, just as airbags now are. In fact to achieve the maximum 5 star ANCAP safety a vehicle must be fitted with stability program technology.
